Chicken Rolls

Chicken rolls makes the best evening tea companion or are just perfect for iftari in Ramadan. In this recipe chicken is cooked with come vegetable, finished with cornflour. This mixture is then rolled in Manda strips and fried.

Chicken Rolls Ingredients

  • Manda strips as required
  • Chicken (cut into small pieces) 125 gm
  • Ginger (medium) 1 pieces
  • Garlic (chopped) 3 cloves
  • Capsicum 1/2
  • Carrot 1/2
  • Cauliflower 1/4
  • Spring onions 2
  • Salt to taste
  • Crushed red chillies 1/2 tsp
  • Tenderizer 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  • Black pepper powder 1/2 tsp
  • Cornflour 1/2 tsp
  • Oil for frying

Chicken Rolls Cooking Directions

  1. Heat oil in a frying pan, add garlic and fry till it turns golden.
  2. Add chicken pieces.
  3. Chop carrot, capsicum, cauliflower and spring onions and put them in the chicken.
  4. Add salt, crushed and powered red chillies, black pepper, tenderizer and a little water.
  5. Mix well. Cook the chicken for a while, then add cornflour mixed in a little water.
  6. When all the water dries up, take it off the flame.
  7. Keep a little chicken mixture in the middle of a manda strip and fold it like a roll.
  8. Seal the ends with egg or refined flour mixture.
  9. Repeat this process with other strips.
  10. Heat oil in a wok and fry the rolls till they turn golden.
  11. Serve them hot with chutney.
